Shannon currently spends her time working with youth teaching them the importance of a servant’s heart while expanding their vision of possibilities both for their community and themselves. She has coached basketball to young at-risk boys in South Dallas, counseled with young girls rescued from sex-trafficking in Honduras, built Habitat Homes alongside families in South Dallas, cared for orphans in Haiti, sponsored The Ted and Shannon Skokos Learning Lab at the Booker T. Washington Performing Arts Magnet School for advanced theater students, funded an infant burial program for stillborn children, volunteered her time with abused teens at Jonathan’s Place, spent her Christmas days passing out dream gifts to children at an emergency shelter, and mentored impressionable college bound teens across the country.
Shannon has extensive board and executive committee experience, including The Ted and Shannon Skokos Foundation, Baylor Health Care System Foundation, AT&T Performing Arts Center, the National Corvette Museum, Dallas Theater Center, Dallas Opera, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Texas Ballet Theater, Texas Women for the Arts Cultural Forum, North Texas Super Bowl Service Learning Adventures in North Texas “SLANT 45”, and Denison Ministries. She is also a member of the Junior League of Dallas and Park Cities Baptist Church.
When she is not volunteering her time or working on various business ventures, Shannon enjoys attending Dallas sporting events, preserving the history of classic automobiles, cooking, fostering kittens, and relaxing at home with her husband Ted and their cats.
